A few of my hinges are missing the wire that runs inside them, anyone know what diameter it is? And no, I have no idea where the wire went, it was missing when I bought the boat.
Those were a staked aluminum hinge in that boat, and the hinge pin could only come out if they were flexed, which was often over opening a lid or compressing a crank bait or large lead weight under the lid against the outside. Your only option is a hinge replacement. BCB
I found several pins that were part way out and I was able to re-insert the pins, I think I should be able to find wire the correct diameter for replacement.
