I hit a log today and torn up The plate above the cavatation plate on the front of the bottom part of the calling can you tell me what this is and how if you can to fix it

Any good welding shop can Patch in a plate and then you can shape it in and Repaint. Though does your insurance handle this?

That is usually part of the mid section which requires a removal of the power head and exhaust bucket. If it is the the gearcase then you would be replacing the case shell with your parts. The other option is to find a discarded part that matches and cut out the piece you need to reeled in the break.

Yes you can use it with no issues.
