Need Pro and cons on different home theather systems from the bass cat family need pros and cons on wireless and wired systems without breaking the bank will be going to hook up to an Lg 7400 55″ tv room has high ceilings. what is the advice on the bose cimate 1sr digital system. thanks in advance

IMO the only quality system is one that you piece together by component. Stay away from wireless systems and “home theaters in a box.”

key thing to remember is you get most of your sound from the center channel and fronts so dont skimp on a good ones. receivers now a days have HDMI pass through so all the devices will connect to the audio receiver then 1 hdmi to the tv. i would look at the Energy 5.1 classic speakers, amazing sound and priced around $250. you can get a good entry 5.1 receiver like a Yamaha or denon for around $300.

We have the Bose Acoustimass 10 with a Denon receiver and we love the set-up. If I had more money to invest, I would have purchased a Klipsch surround sound system. I never considered a wireless system. The small speakers and the great sound were a selling feature with the Bose for us.

The Klipsch 5.1 system is awesome. Im not big on the wireless option. Also – the Yamaha 5.1 surround receiver / amp is extremely good at a budget price. Big expense can be cabling. Buy them all at monoprice.com and save a ton. http://www.avsforum.com is a great resource on components.

RazorCat+1 one on separate components. No manufacturer makes the best of each component. Dont care for the “theater in box” solutions. Ive owned a number high end systems over the past 30+ years. Maranta, Kenwood, Altec, Nakamichi, and Polk. All excellent systems.I currently have Klipsch bi-amped speakers with front, center and dipolar rear surrounds. All powered by a high end Onkyo A/V receiver with a Sony Blu-Ray and Sony SACD CD player. Hey, Im an audiophile nut. What can I say. Id be hard pressed to beat Klipsch and Onkyo components. I puts together a mid priced system for my son recently. Onkyo mid price ($450.00) and Polk audio matched home theater speakers. I think they were around $1100.00 for all 5 speakers (F, C, R). Exceptional quality and sound. That system will last for years. Klipsch also makes exceptional mid priced speakers. Built n Hope, Ark. To get full function out of your TV and attached components be sure you look for a receiver and Blu-Ray player that uses HDMI connections. One cable connections between all your components that you can control with one remote.Personally, I wouldnt spend a dime on anything that says Bose on it again. Had bad luck twice with Bose components. JMO.

Did a little research for you. Yo didnt say what your budget was, but heres a reasonably priced 7.2 system with HD capabilities and THX Certified. Very Good reviews. PM me a price range and a general idea of what youd like (brand, floor standing vs. book shelf main speakers, color, etc.) and Ill give you some varying ideas on what to take a look at. Like I said. Im an audiophile. The only thing I spend more money on is bass fishing.
