I blew my horn last week and it sounds like its about dead. I read awhile back about horns not sounded like a horn anymore but i cant find it.

Sometimes they get spiders up in them . — It may come out of it if you just hold it on for a while . — Ive seen it alot with cars / trucks . — Might be a bit annoying , but it might work too . — Hoss

reach up in the starboard locker and jiggle the wire at the horn. slight corrosion messes with the ground wire. better yet take the horn out and clean all connectionsBob

Nope, just tweak the setting screw and alter the tone to try and get it fired up.

Never doubt BCB but I had the same problem on my pontoon. It was a loose/corroded ground wire at battery. Horn was wired directly to battery at factory or by previous owner??

I just ordered a new horn since mine sounds sick (not in a slang good way). Previous owner said he replaced it last summer before he sold it to me. Before I swap it out Id like to try the setting screw trick. Where is the setting screw?

u can get the manufacture part number, use it on amazon, get one either white or black, dont matter cause they are covered by the crome plate and be done with it. cheaper also. at least when I got mine it was. I got two. one to replace the one that stopped working, and then a replacement. The reason for the replacement was due to the quality of the horn, wasnt impressed.

A horn or another audio signaling devise is required. I carry a whistle as a back up if the horn doesnt work when “the man” does a boat check. So where is this setting screw?
