Topic: Hot Foot too far away… Looking for suggestions

Hey folks, Im a short fella at 57″. When I bought my boat it had the Hot Foot already installed. Its not on a slide plate so I can not adjust it with that. It looks like my only option to move it closer is to unscrew it and move it closer and drill/screw it in new holes. Any advice before I do this? Im not too stoked about drilling holes in my floor.Thanks in advance.P.S.Its a 2006 Classic if that makes any difference.Last edited by Jake B on May 16th, 2011, 7:20 pm, edited 1 time in total.My CatI Am Second

use an aluminum plate and mount it in your original holes then drill the new holes in the plate and mount your hot foot there.

I like that suggestion. I had a hard time finding stock aluminum (for a different purpose) but finally found some at Fastenal.

Theres a guy on BassBoat Central, who makes those plates custom fitted for a few brands of boats, BassCat being one of them. His screen name is Largemouthlou. Just get on there and send him an IM. He will talk to you about price, etc. I had one on my 06 CougarFTD that Lou made, it was perfect. I think he now makes them with a BassCat cutout in the plate…kind of classy looking. He puts a heavy black plastic/rubber strip around the edge of the plate so no sharp edges are exposed. (similar in design to what BCB puts along the bottom edge of the consoles, only smaller of course.) Back in 06 I think I paid about $100 for one. I imagine they are higher than that now though. Just tell him I sent you! (and no, I dont get any kickback. )

Buy a slide plate. That way you can adjust it where you want it! Cheapest/easiest/no doubt solution to your problem!

Sounds like the best idea to me! I didnt know you could add a slide plate to a hotfoot that didnt come with one.I knew you were good for somethin Phil!!

It may not be a BCB mounted hot foot? So we are going to refer you to a BCB knowledgeable dealer.
