Topic: How do you keep drinks cold?

Was down at Table Rock this weekend…great weekend on the water with temps approaching 80. I have a great time fishing, and have been known to enjoy a frosty cold beer or two while Im out there. My 08 Cougar is new to me as of a few weeks ago, but was somewhat surprised to see the cup holders are too small to hold a 12oz beverage in a coozie / huggie/ can cooler. Anyone modify their boat to accept a slightly larger can holder? Im gonna do it over the winter. Also, anyone add a can holder up near the bow anywhere? I was thinking next to the RAM mount for my Lowrance unit. As a bonus, Ill be able to access under my RAM mount and change the install to thru bolts instead of wood screws. tnx edwinAdvantages are taken, not handed out…

Edwin I think you ought to upgrade to a Puma FTD. It has larger drink holders that will keep your cold beers cold! Even has one up on the bow to keep your cold one only finger tips away.

The more recent designs have hte larger stainless holders, though we also get complaints that those are too large for cans alone. We would look at one of the pivoting caddies for your mounting. BCB

Thanks Phil…the Cougar is plenty boat for me. She just turned 50 hrs over the weekend so its got lot o life left in her. Ill do some searching on options. Ive had other boats with plastic can holders that are smaller diameter at the bottom for naked cans, and larger up the sides for the covered can. My ski boat has stainless drink holders, but as BCB mentioned, theyre one diameter from top to bottom and make for a loose fit of a can by itself. Tnx for the input!Advantages are taken, not handed out…

We dont worry about keeping them cold up here in the north country. Just put the boat i storage and stuff the beer in a snow bank.IF ITS NOT A CAT ITS A DOG BASSCAT BOATS 2001 COUGAR 225 YAMAHA….www.dropshotdennys.com
