Closer to 1000rpms low, but unknown engine height, prop pitch,load, elevation, compression as mentioned, etc,,,, Those engines were great, but a bit shy on torque. A 25p Tempest was probably the most commonly preferred prop of that time, but some ran Trophy props with good results. As boats aged they got heavier, with some water intrusion, etc,,,, if the boat is that fresh I doubt you would have that issue,nor transom flex. Set up and driving is a bit more critical on those hulls, and can greatly effect performance. Get someone with BCB experience to help with those.
