If you go up in pitch it will increase your top end speeds as long as your motor can keep turning the rpms. What will eventually happen is your pitch will be too much and the motor will not turn enough rpms on top end and you will lose speed and it will hurt your holeshot more then anything. Once you get your motor broke in and get several hours on it then you can start trying to setup you combo. Anytime you are setting it up for best performance you need to keep in mind how much fishing gear is in the boat, how much gas, how many people, air and water temps and livewells empty or full of water. Weight in a boat, air temps, and water temps play a big factor in how a boat performs. Try to simulate how you normally will be weighting the boat down when you start setting it up. A boat is going to run faster in cool air temps and cooler water temps also.
