I purchased a new 2008 Puma at the Houston Boat show on January 12, 2010 and ordered the second console and a boarding ladder when I took delivery of the boat. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks to build the console (no problem here and very understanding). It has now been over 6 weeks and still no console or ladder. I have asked the dealer repeatedly where the items are to no availe. I drove to the dealer (an hour drive) last week to speak to them about this and ran into the Bass Cat Rep there and asked him to find out something for me but have not heard back yet from the rep or the dealer. I sent an e-mail to BCB but no response yet. I talked to Pete in parts (maybe the wrong person to talk to, I dont know) and he couldnt even find the order for the console but stated that the ladders are in stock. Will somebody please give me some answers here on why I cant get my stuff? The hull # is BASP8861A808 This is not the “customer service” I thought I was buying into!Last edited by Ecat on March 1st, 2010, 11:40 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I would suspect 6-8 weeks typically. William Bowden let me know that he would give you a call tomorrow and discuss this matter with you!
Bringing it here gets you service …………….with a bit of BS……….if you go about it the wrong way! You will get your answer shortly. They just got back from the classic so I am sure they are busy. You are a valued member and they will get you fixed up and maybe a free visor?(hint )jk ……………………………..I am rooting for myself on this one too!Do not worry and stay calm ….it will all get taken care of. Tell BCB your dealer and it will get resolved very quickly!BTW……………….the customer service is awesome but in todays times some things slip due to cutbacks ……………………..but not BCB, they will be on this one! Ecat expect a message in a couple of minutes!ScottSee Phil beat me to it!Last edited by Scott Dominick on March 2nd, 2010, 1:25 am, edited 1 time in total.
Thanks Phil! I also got an email from Mike and he will be contacting me tomorrow as well. I have been told 2-3 weeks by several people and I was told that the console would be delivered last week but it was not. When I spoke with Pete at BCB parts, then I got concerned becaused he couldnt find the order??? Heck, maybe the thing is on a UPS truck somewhere, who knows? I was just getting a little frustrated because I cant seem to get any answers. I guess the ball is rolling now though. Again, thanks for your help and concern.I see you live somewhat close to me. We should get together sometime and look over set-up on my rig. Still trying to tweak the performance a little.
Thanks Scott for your concerns and help also. I totally understand about how BCB has been busy with the Classic and all the boat shows around the country. A simple explaination and timeline would be fine by me but I cant seem to even get that. I am not looking for anything extra, just the console and ladder is all I want.
You would be wise to get Phil to help you set up your rig. He is one of the best there is at driving and setting up a Cat.
They will get you hooked up. Best in the business for a reason! If you ever hit MS give me a shout (901) 409-0354.I had a bad experience also and I found out that BC will take care of you and will get on to the dealer. As far as driving that beast to the hilt…………man look elsewhere. I have an 05 bought in 06 that has 100hrs on it and less than 20 at over 4k ……………scares the crud out of me! I let 247 drive it or another friend. They can run 80s …..not me! Guess I am just chicken. 81.2 is my limit and that was enough! I am scared ………………..no shame!
I am sure BCB will take of this for me, just frustrated. Thats all.I like fast and want to get every inch out of this rig that it has in it. I may already be real close though. Hitting 73.5 on rough lake so couldnt really trim her out good. Getting lots of steering torque so I dropped the motor a little but still had the torque with a loss of 2 mph on top end. Running 26 Fury at 5900 rpms on 225 HO.
Running a 27 Vmax at about 5200 ………..have to work on height. And between Wii games we can get this straight. So fury is not something I know about!Raise it up 1/8 ” at a time or just go a 1/4 and see what it will do….i have torque also but just drive with it, not through it. These guys are great and they will help. They always do….and these guys are good! They will tell you what to do as they might have the same rig!Bunch of them on here…………….that can drive one to the max and teach.
We will contact them and have Pete follow up on it tomorrow. They had some backlog on console orders, though going over the list we did only see two we felt were timing issues. The staff has been worked extra hard on Elite and Classic boats, as well as the new Eyra. Plus lack of available parts from vendors due to lower production and inventory has been an issue. This has all added to circumstances we generally dont face and eaten some labor that is dedicated to other things. This is not your direct issue though are complications of the problems. We will be having someone look closer at this though. We assume you contacted your dealer onthis also. BCB
