I added a second graph (Garmin’s with Live Scope) to my 2019 Caracal and wanted to upgrade power supply to a dedicated line with a fuse box to get away from wire nuts. My plan was to follow the trolling motor cables that follow the center of the hull and come up under the foot pedal of my Ultrex. No luck. I tried pushing wire from the back and only get to a bit passed cockpit drain holes. I tried from the bow and only get about 5 feet and wire and snake stop. I tried to go from cockpit holes to bow and run into something as well. I did not attempt outside rail as I do not want to compromise existing wires. Any idea on how to get this wire to my bow? I imaging there is a tube or hanger the trolling motor wires are funneled thru.

I should have never watched the Caracal STS video! What a machine!

I’ve never been able to run wires through the existing tubes, I pull the vent or cupholder on the starboard rear corner and that will give you a straight shot to the console. Loosen the screws holding the shifter in and you can reach your fish tape as it gets there. There should be a gap in the starboard rod box at the top where you can route through towards the front or back to the cockpit. It’s easiest working in the nose if you have the 4 inch access port under your trolling motor pedal. Zip tie your new wires to the outside of the existing tube. That’s what has worked for me in 5 Cats.

Thanks for the advice. I like your plan. When I get time to tackle this again I will follow. I do have the circle port. I wish the all the ares were accessible. Not to mention my hands and wrist areas got the “glass bite”! Gloves will be a must next time.

Along with what has already been suggested, I would consider adding a blue sea systems fuse panel under the dash and running 8 gauge tinned copper from the main battery in the back, to the fuse panel. This would be useful for any future electronics upgrades and also makes getting at your fuses super easy, also providing clean power. I added one on my 2008 P2 and it has been perfect for all of my upgrades since I bought the boat. I am running deck lights, USB charger ports, Helix 9, Helix 10, Solix 10, and Mega 360 off my blue sea fuse panel and never have issues with them.
