alot will depend on the color where the scratch is. If its white, then you can probably repair yourself. If its polyflake then you would probably be better served to have it done. What a bummer!
Thanks Phil, the damage is in the flake port side above rub rail.
My answer would be………………….if you can live with it, dont mess with it, if not, then have it repaired by someone that is good at fiberglass repair. Good luck!
WHY DOESNT THE GUY WITH THE TRITON FIX IT????????????????????????????????????ROBIN
Robin, Folks in bass rigs dont view it like we do our vehicles. Though that is the way we should view it. Then we would all have cleaner rigs.
fished a tournament Saturday at lay lake, my buddy called me said He was dead in the water could I tow him in . when we got to the dock I was trying to jump him off with cables. heres the crazy part some guy in a Triton push off from the dock , I guest He had a brain fart hit the throttle ran in to me pushing me into my buddies boat, breaking his brand new carrot stick and put a one inch gouge in the side of my Puma.the damage is about 1″ long and 1/8″ deep, is this something I can fix myself?
Itll fix, no worry unless it breaks out and water jackets. Any good glass shop can repair , but one of BCBs would be my pick.
Not a major and thats Vinyl Ester resin so dont let just anyone tackle it.
Who would yall recommend? I live in Texarkana not really sure who to take it to. Will it be ok to use it until I can get it fixed or will it make it worse? I want to take it to the right people to make sure its done right.

Sorry, I didnt see year ! I think youll be fine runnin it until you can get it to Garry Wright on his schedule. He is in Lakeview, AR. , up by bcb . Bcb may have someone else in mind, as they have others who are capable
Hate you found one of those Millwood stumps and scratched up your boot up Ryan. Let me know how the fix turns out for you. Ive got a black boot on my Sabre FTD. No deep scratches or gouges, but a few scuff marks after the last two weeks in Mud Lake and Maquire. Couldnt stay off of them when the water was down a foot or so.Is the Frog bite still on? Headed that way on Tuesday morning if I have the demo for this kitchen remodel at a stopping point. Ill look for a red Sabre whenever Im up there and say hello. Good luck with your repair.
The vinyl ester resin will not water jacket like other resin and you will be fine to run it. Lets assume you can run it without repairing and we think you can. If its really bothering you then it could be repaired.
Razorcat I caught several on a frog and punching grass yesterday. Ive got lots of scuff marks from fishing millweed hard to avoid it. Guess I just hit this one a little to hard. Been fishing it for years and this was a first. Your right it was really bad when they dropped it a foot. Thanks BCB I think I want to get it fixed probably going to give Gary a call. Thats a pretty long drive but I want to make sure it gets done right. Thanks for the input everyone.
I love a black boot on a boat, but it will take some scuff marks on Millwood.. The great thing is, its a BassCat. Fix em, buff them out, and youre back in business. Looks like Millwood will be steady at about 259.40 (just above normal) on Tuesday. Frog and Crankbait time. I love Fall fishing. Deer season starts and I have the whole lake pretty much to myself.
