Humminbird 1199 on Pantera II console

I have a 1199 on its way and was looking for some guidance or examples of how best to mount it on the console. A 798 is coming out. Thanks in advance for the info.

A friend of mine at Martys Marine, Osage Beach, Mo. a BCB dealer, has one on a 2013 PII, you might shoot them a e-mail for advice.

I like the looks of the one from Sherm; however, how about vision once installed. Does it still allow for good forward view of the bow? Just wondering from you guys who have one. I have a Sabre FTD and am considering up grading my 798 SI DI to a 900 series. Thanks in advance.

BamaCat – I had a good discussion with Sherm and putting this 1199 on my Pantera will be a bit of a stretch. It will come up above the windscreen a little bit. Im not too concerned, Im 64″ and think seeing over it wont be a problem. Sherm said the 900 series is really the best fit on the console for the Sabre and Pantera – you should be just fine with his mount. His mounts are certianly the cleaniest, best looking out there. I cant stand the RAM mounts. Had I not already dropped the $$ for the 1199 and be as impatient as I am, I would probably have gone with the 900 series myself. Im just hoping to be able to see my graph without my reading glasses.

For what it’s worth, I have an 898 on a RAM mount on my Classic—it sits with the bottom edge of the screen about even with the top edge of the steering wheel as shown in the photo linked below. I’m 6’2” and have no trouble seeing over the top of it—it more or less blocks the foot of the trolling motor but doesn’t project into my field of vision any more than that. http://Macintosh.basscatowners.yuku.com … id/3802155

I just got a mount from Sherm for my HDS7, havent put it on yet but held it up and should look and work great.
