Topic: Humminbird 360 TM image noise

I have a Humminbird 360 TM linked to a 5-port ethernet switch and an ONIX 10 SI unit. The system has worked flawlessly (no interference from TM) for a couple of years. I have the trolling and starting batteries grounds linked, and a ground to the TM foot pedal (MK Maxxum) and TM skeg. This weekend the 360 is producing an image right out of Star Wars. I turned all electronics (main switch) off including the console HB unit…the only thing turned on is the ONIX and 360. I reset the unit to factory defaults and still have the random pattern of “dots”. Was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced the “non-trolling motor” interference and if so, what the cause/fix is?

Arkie,never been up close to a 360, but any possibility of a pinched transducer wire?

Good suggestion….I picked up a cable today and plan to try hooking the 360 direct to the ONIX unit this weekend. That will eliminate either a bad cable or faulty 5-port switch. I dont think it is the 5-port because there is no interference on anything else but the 360 screen. Anyway, HB wants $245 just to look at the unit so it is worth a little effort on my part to rule out all the other possibilities.Thanks!
