Humminbird 958c no GPS

Just bought a boat with a 958c on the bow and wont show maps. GPS shows “unconnected”. Does this mean the internal antennae is bad or could there be something else? Unit is on a Ram Mount and boat is not under a roof. I also have a 997 on the console and has same issue. This unit has an external antenna. Havent found the connector for it yet. Previous owner claims they were working. Thanks

I may be wrong, but I dont think a 958 has an internal gps.

If it had an internal it would be a 958ci. The i is for internal antenna.

All you need is the GPS receiver. The Parts Department could hook you up if you need one and cant find the simple one. Everyone is now going to the directional style and they are twice the cost. They still offer the basic receiver and it works fine.
