I have a 998 SI in the console and a 858 bow that are networked. Sometimes if I put a waypoint on one it wont show up on the other until I turn both off then back on.hen it goes through a interlink connection and downloading points. Is this typical? I saw some older post where this was occurring but didnt see how they fixed it. I dont even know where to begin looking to see if Im doing something wrong or what. The manual had nothing about it and I cant find much info on their website. Can anyone give me a clue where to begin looking?

Make sure when you first start them up you select “fully participate in the network” for both units. The other trick is that both have to be on for the transfer to take place instantly… if one is off then when you turn on the second machine it will ask you what you want to do and go through the whole downloading thing… I save all my spots to the Interlink and make sure both are on while in the boat. Saves me a lot of time in the end.JP

I select “fully participate” and both are always on. You made me think about something though. I usually turn the sonar off on the console so it doesnt interfer with the bow. When I do that it goes to birds eye view. Ill try putting it on map view tomorrow and see what that does.

Sideimagingsoft.com is a good site. On both units hit menu 2x, hit the right arrow button to go to the last option, hit the down arrow, you will see screenshot and interlink. Cursor to interlink. Hit right cursor. See if participating. Some interlinks are going in and out of participation.

Yes, if you want to eliminate the cross talking between the two sonars, you must turn the Sonar off to eliminate hte transducer output. Otherwise they do loose the network. You will have to turn the sonar back on to run when you need it.

Try to power down each unit individually instead of turning the master power off. I have found that this eliminates many of my network issues.
