Does anyone remember how to download the new down looking image that Humminbird came out with a few months ago. went to their web site but couldnt figure it out. I dont know if I have what I need to download on to my computer and then transfer it to my chip in the 997 SI. In other words how do I get the information that was downloaded on to the chip in the unit. I also dont know which program to download because there are 3 different choices. I have a windows 7 on my computer. I have already registered my unit with Humminbird so I got that far. I dont know very much about computers, just learning as I go. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks this helped a lot. I didnt realize I had to go and buy a chip and something to transfer the information from my computer to the chip. I guess when I get to the computer store they will know what equipment I will need to buy. Told you I dont know anything about computers. After reading all of this information, I think I can do it if I pay attention.
Not sure if this is in any of the information, but after you download the stuff to the chip, you have to launch it (double click the files withthe .exe) while it is in the computer or it will not load into the 1197. Also, I think the slot for the download is the LH slot. When you are done, you can take the chip out, erase it and put it back in the slot to save your screen shots to.Milton
You can check to make sure you got it in by double click menu, go to views, scroll down to self test, make visible, exit menu, punch views top right until self test shows, if it has the 4.750 , then you are set!BAYOU BANDIT
Well I cant do this download. I followed directions to a T and I never get the screen under step #12 that says the install wizard will now began. I never get the install wizard to appear on my screen. I can not get the file to open. I guess I will go somewhere and find someone that knows how to do this. Ive been at this for 2 hours and repeated the step by step procedure over and over and it doesnt work like it says it should. Maybe it is my computer, doesnt have the right programs or something.
Well persistence paid off. Somehow, dont ask how because I dont know, I kept messing with this thing and discovered that I had actually loaded the correct program on to my Sd card. I followed directions perfectly but nothing that was supposed to happen did so I dont know how I did this. Putting it into my 997SI was the easy part. GOT IT DONE YEA.
