Just wanted to give an update on the installation of my transducer switch. I was having depth reading issues (2.1 feet sporadically). Was told either the y cable or transducer was bad. Bypassed the y cable and ran everything off the SI transducer. Worked great and gave me the best traditional imaging I have ever seen. However, I could not run at speed using the SI. So, to keep the great images using the SI transducer and provide for depth at speed, I installed the humminbird transducer switch. Tapped power from the accessory switch on the touch pad. Tested and everything went great. If I forget to turn on the accessory switch, the unit defaults to the SI transducer. So when Im fishing or at idle, I switch to gun (SI tranducer) once planed off I turn the switch and go to run (in hull). I mounted the switch out of sight but in easy reach under the lip of the console below the horn button. Used zip ties with screw hole supports and just screwed into the glass under the lip of the console. Just have to remember to turn on the accessory button. An easy option for depth issues on “Birds” that will provide excellent SI and regular sonar imaging.
