Hummingbird 718 to a 5 series DI

I was wondering if you could plug a 5 series DI unit in at the bow where the 718 is?I know they are the same size but will it work with my current transducer and wiring??I dont have a puck on the trolling motor so it has to be working off the hull transducer in the back maybe?Really dont want to try and run wires in this boat not knowing what I am doing.

The bow unit has its own transducer that is located in the hull just forawrd of the console. You cant see it or get to it. The DI unit you are referring to has its own transducer and must be in the water to operate. Trolling motor would be the most feasible location if unit is located at the bow. A thru hull transducer will not work on this unit.
