Thinkin of putting a hydraulic plate on my p2. Was wondering what you guys think about the Atlas vs the detwieller. Is one faster or more powerful than the other? Weight difference? Which one holds up better? Or is it a minn kota vs motorguide thing? Can i expect any performance increase? Faster speeds are not the reason for purchasing just curious. Any input greatly appreciatted.

We like Detwiler / Sea Star better without Power Poles and Atlas with. Though we are not as fond of Atlas overall. BCB

BCB thanks for the quick response. About the powerpoles is that because the atlas is predrilled for the bracket mounts? Do brackets have to mounted between the detwiller and the boat or can they mounted on the side? No poles yet but could be in the near future.

Then Atlas till SeaStar has theirs fit or pole brackets comfortably.

Does the atlas from BCB come with the blinker trim switch? Also the positioning gauge is it a numbered readout or something else.

If it werent for power poles I would choose a Detwiler.

Seems Detwiler is missing the boat on a growing segment of the market by not adding a simple mod for the pre-drilled holes to their product. I had to yank my Detwiler off because the sandwich mounts for Talons didnt work (because of the 6 – hole pattern on the transom and they scooped water when mounted between motor and plate). So I put a manual slidemaster back on just so I could use the side mounts. Deke
