These pictures were back in 1997 I think. It was the Like Father Like Son fishing trail national championship at Cypress Gardens FL. The boat was my old 1995 Javelin 400 that I ran for 13+ years. Yep, that 400 ran well with the 150 Fast-Strike. I later traded up to a 200 EFI Mercury. . Man, a lot of great memories were made in that boat! We sold it in 2008 and bought Kevin Shorts 2008 Cougar. We have ran Bass Cats since then.A very young BR200 in there with me.

Great memories for you. I had the same rig in dual console, but a 1996 Javelin TDC 400 with a 200 Johnson Venom, and the old reliable square head and hooked shaft OMC troller. Longest I ever kept a boat, for 11 years. Next to my Cats, it was my favourite hull, and it was in great condition when I sold it. OMC did a good job back in the mid-nineties.

Yep, 28, that was a great boat. I had a Motor Guide TM so I didnt order it with the OMC TM. 3 of my buds ended up buying 400s too.

The first time I fished the Arkansas State Federation Championship for BASS side was in 1995, I had an 89 Sabre that we bought new. I was going as the 4th of our 6 man team, so I was a non-boater. Our number 3 angler was unable to fish and withdrew, which moved me into a boater position.Problem was, I had just upgraded the engine from a Mariner Mag III 150 to Mariner 175 EFI one month earlier. So one of my friends loaned me his new Javelin 389 T with the 150 Johnson. It fished well, or as well as I could manage. Made me appreciate others choices and reminded me we all have different wants, needs, likes when it comes to equipment.Those were the days…………

I am glad that 20 years later that BR200 is able to work in the fishing business. Plus his wife loves to fish too.
