I jackknifed my trailer and bent it up pretty good

I was going to do a little night fishing this evening, when i got to the lake it was raining so i decide to pull up to the top of the parking lot and wait the rain out. The parking lot is on a pretty steep hill. When it quit raining i start down the hill to the ramp and when i hit the brakes the truck started sliding and the trailer hit the bumper of my truck and was pushing me down the hill. I am glad i didnt hit any of the trucks that were parked at the bottom. It did not damage the boat any, but my trailer is ruined. I will be on the phone with my insurance agent first thing in the morning.

Basscat36, We often straighten out those frames if we have the same vehicle by jacking the trailer the opposite direction with a block on the bumper to reinforce it. The frame may be able to be straightened within reason by using this method. Pending of course that your insurance is not going to cover it all, or your deductible is too high. BCB

Here are some pics of the damage, I know it can be repaired but I would rather have it replaced, it took me a long time to get a boat this nice and I would like to keep it as nice as possible . Right now I am waiting on my insurance agent to call me back.Sorry, we found your pics, though we tried to fix the link here and it must have gotten deleted. We did manage to see them and look at the frame first though. Images from a Photobucket or sharing site must be linked and can not be inserted here. So you use the link button to access those images if you want to put them on here. We cut the address out of the post to find them and pasted it into the address bar. If you just edit this post or put a new one up with the address of the first frame picture, the site would be accessible. BCB Admin. That one is tweaked pretty good, though we have straightened out several that bad over the years. Not sure you want to risk bumper damage to that nice truck though, as sometimes it can tweak a bumper on the newer vehicles with lighter bumpers to get fuel mileage. BCB

Im not sure what happened to the pictures, when they did not show up on my post i went back and tried to fix it but i guess i deleted them. You should be able to see them on my profile page on yuku. I cant figure out how to get them on here.

Since you loaded the images to your profile, when you edit or create a topic, you can hit the Insert Image button above, and your albums or images should pop right up there. Then you just select the image you want. We used the ADD FROM URL tab for this upload. BCB

take it to a body shop and they can tie the frame down and make a frame pull…the same process they would use to straighten the frame of your truck. labor time would only be 1-1.5 hours so around 65-100 dollars.

I feel your pain, could easily happen to anyone in the right situation. Figure Ill make enough mistakes as a boat owner. Hope this isnt one of them.

There will be a kink in the C Channel frame that you will not be able to remove in either process. BCB
