What is your go to bait for schooling bass?Ive been using a pop r with not much luck..ThanksBut we killed em yesterday(not schooling) on a carolina rig with a fluke..
When they are schooling I try to have a Fluke, Rattle Trap, and a Casting spoon or Little George rigged. Then I let the fish tell me which they want. But there are times when a Rooster tail cannot be beat.
Try a small Minnow type Jerkbait on light line. I use a Lucky Craft Pointer SP 65 in the Ghost Minnow color if clarity is decent. $12 bait, but well worth it. I kinda stumbled into it this summer. Im about too switch the front hook for the second time this summer because its broke.
Most people pay for this type information !THE best lure for summertime schoolers that have seen everything, is , a, ,,,,,,,,,roostertail ! Seriously, hands down, the best ever. White, and heavy enough for spinning tackle to cast a mile !
Either a walking type top water or a green pumpkin jig. I swim the jig some then hit the button and let it fall straight down underneath…sometimes thats where the big ones are hanging out.

Used to be either a Chrome Rat-L-Trap or a Johnson Silver Minnow witha white grub trailer. Both still work well. But, then I bought a few SK Rage Blades. Super White, Bluegill, and Sexy Shad. Holy Guacamole! When the Bass are looking for a reaction bait, and they arent interested in a spinnerbait, this thing is the real deal. Pull the SK trailer off, trim the skirt a little, and drop a Lake Fork “Live” Magic Shad on the back and HOLD ON. They will crush it.
