I have a 1999 Mercury 200 efi. Last weekend the rectifier BURNT UP. Replaced it and the plugs and fuel filter and the engine idles a little low and will die in gear most of the time. Has something else gone bad due to the rectifier problem or does it need a little twist on an idle screw? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I would take it to a dealer, let them hook it up to their computer and Ill bet youll find its the TPI (Throttle pickup indicator)setting. EFI engines should never die while at idle. You cant do this without the computer. Glynn
