BCB, I hope you folks dont mind if I post this link. Over on BassBoatCentral.com, in the BassCat forum, someone posted a question something like, is a BassCat really worth 12,000 more than some other boats? (They didnt mention the other boats) BCB gave an answer which to me was really eye opening. As I said on that thread, I thought I knew why a BassCat is the best…after reading BCBs reply…I REALLY know why!! If you have time…check this out. BCBs reply is about the 5th or 6th one down.http://bbcboards.zeroforu…parable-competitor-brand
Man I am WOWED! My Cat is a 91, but I know that when it was built it was built by the best boat builders and with the best materials available at the time. Im ready for the weather to warm up a little bit. The kitty is purring to get out of the Cat house. BASSHAWK91 Pantera 2 91 Mariner Mag II 150
Here is my experience r 522 single console 250 merc makes right hand turn in 2ft waves passengers wet. T model great contingency money which is needed to buy underwear when the chime walking/running starts. I know opinions are like a– holes. So buy what you want especially when the company BCB tells you how they do things and you disagree with them. I dont know boat construction, but if Rick or Ron say they brush the glue on for the carpet, I will go down fighting defending this. I will guess R brand is the one you want but when I bought my puma R brand was more and it had less options. So you buy yours we will buy ares and if family is important I would spend the extra money and join this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great post BCB
First of all let me state, I know nothing about building a bass boat. I have however owned 4 boats. Some where better than others but none could stand up against my Basscat. I own a 1999 (wow) jaguar. I would be glad to have anyone compare their 11 year old boat against mine. I have never had to repair carpet, finish or anything related to the boat. Oh yeah its been threw 3 engines ( no fault of Basscat) Its had maintanace done for sure. Pumps/graphs/trolling motors etc. But nothing has failed on the boat its self. I replaced the seats just because I wanted the new style. The original seats are still in good condition. Its never been, nor does it need to be, refinished. I keep it under a cover for many years and the past 3 its been garaged. Just a note about basscat: I bought my seats from Basscat on Ebay (clearance item) when I installed the seats the center seat was to wide. (jags are norrower than cougars) I called BCB and offered to send the seat back. BCB would not let me do this . They built me a new center seat to my specifications covered it and sent it to me NO CHARGE. Remember this was a clearance item at greatly reduced cost. It wasnt about money it was all about customer service. This may seem small to you but I will never own anything other than a Basscat.Thank You BCBs Garry G.1998 BassCat Jaguar225 Mercury OptimaxI posted this on BBCs site. I copied it here just to let BCBs know I thank them!
When I went out boat searching on the Internet, didnt really have a clue as to which were the best boats out there. Had always heard all the hype on Rangers, Stratos, Nitros, Triton, Skeeters.Found the BCB board and my search was over pretty quickly. All I had to do was find what I wanted and close to home( From Ontario, Canada). Local dealer didnt have anything, so another search began early december and ended end of December.Paul up in Schenectady NY had my toy under his Christmas tree. At this time all I can say is Im really proud to be a new Puma owner, and after reading that previous report, know now that Bass Cat stands behind their product.I do have connections down in Arkansas, as my sister lives there along with all her kids. May just have to make a trip to see the plant.
Im in the military and spend some time in front of too many people that have no Kiwis. Dont know if it was Mr.Pierce or any of the Eliete staff as well, but well said. Proud to own a BCB. I no longer explain over the internet why I own a cat I just copy and paste. Thank you, Rusty
I printed BCBs response and put it on my wall to remind me to save my money and keep my job The guy says he can re-carpet an entire boat using 24oz including glue for $300. Cool! I would like to find that deal!I found it somewhat funny the guy who made the original post was Marcus Clouse. Does Gary have a brother? He also said the boat he is comparing uses AME 5000 resin fiberglass. Makes me think he was talking of the Phoenix boats. There is no relation between these individuals, Marcus is from the west coast. Gary is from within about 50 miles of the BCB facility.Last edited by 1958 on February 2nd, 2010, 11:34 pm, edited 1 time in total.
And I forgot to ask the question that I intially intended to ask about that post. Can someone tell me what the heck was that picture of that BCB posted?
