PatPollard of Longview, Texas had this down on the web site and it showed up as a Poll with voting options for his name and Thanks. So we assume he used the wrong form. Here is his question. Well as I was out on the lake this weekend seems no water was spewing from the tattletell no alarms went of and I was able to get to shore. Wonder what info ill need to supply to find the correct impeller kit. The motor is about a 95 mercury xri 200. thanks Denton Phillips

If you were getting a water pressure reading but no water pushing out the hole it may be clogged with sand. This has happended to me before. I carry a large paper clip to clean out the hole. One thing I do since it happened is to always push myself off the bank after beaching the boat. Never use the motor to back off the bank. Too much sand gets kicked up and sucked into the engine. If you have not changed your impeller in a year or two I would reccomended a new one.

Here in E.Texas it could be dirt dobbers in the weep hole.

Ive had ants and bugs get in mine before on other boats. Older mercs dont always have a lot of pressure so if mine got clogged in shallow water Id take it up over 5000 rpms and it would always unclog. I also carried a small wire to help unclog the outside hole. Im not saying this is great advice but it always worked on my old 90hp merc. (95 model)
