Just wondering if it would be to much trouble for BCB or one of you hands that live on the lake to let us know the name of Resorts that are minutes away from take off.. Or some of you that been before and had a good stay to let us newbies know the things youve learned over the years.. ie………….. what to do and what not to do… go or not go. Im pumped … bringing my dad with me .
Hey Catdozer, This is Doug from Sunrise Point Resort. We are just a few minutes from the Henderson bridge just south of Robinson Point. We have several guys stay with us each year, and have a great time with the OI. Look us up on the web. I think you will see we have a nice place with excellent facilities. Thanks, Doug http://www.SunrisePointResort.com
We have not visited the Sunrise Point facilities in years, so that we can t vouch for. The same goes for other resorts we just have not got the time to look at them all. Teal Point is one we have knowledge of, though it is usually booked. For Sunrise Point you will access those off Highway 341 from the Tracy area. The access is not bad, though may be on the opposing side for the drive from most reaching the area. Highway 5 South to 341 from Mountain Home. The location is very handy for the take off and the dock appears to be in good condition from our last visual fishing in that area prior to high water. BCB
There are also plenty of motels in town that have good accommodations and Panther Bay has plenty of dock access. The HQ Marina also at Lake Norfork should have plenty of slips, depending on the water situation. BCB
Sunrise Point is off of highway 5 south, but yet handy to get to by taking the bypass around Mtn. Home. Our dock is very nice, and only a couple of years old. The slips are 28 foot deep and 12 wide, with excellent electricity hookups. We think youll like what we have. BCB, You are welcome anytime for a tour. Just give us a call and I would be happy to show you around. Doug
We know we have those options Doug, we are just too busy to make the trip to all the resorts. BCB
I can vouch for Teal Point as well. This will be 12 year in a row that I have stayed there. Centrally located on lake, close to launch site, nice covered boat slips with electric, clean well kept facility, and very nice people. Phone # 870-492-5145. Tell them the guy from PA sent you.
Pumped? Wait till April gets here then you will be pumped. We have headed East for the last 2 years and do not regret it a bit. Even though its 1400 miles each way we will continue to show up and have a great time.www.lakenorforkinn.net We stay here every year and have never had any issues. I have heard of a couple isolated insodents but have never seen 1 in person. You cant get any closer to the take off than here. We get a slip at the marina (or we take Judds) and just walk to the boat and launch. Just be ready to have a good time and bring some meat to cook, there is a bbq every night in the parking lot. Lots of good folks stay here, even Mr. Swann. We even get a few celebrities like Mr. Phil Addison and Mr. LSU himself that tend to show up when the food is ready. Lookin forward to seein yall soon.
