Installed these units last week. Ordered the dash mount from Sherm and really like it; saved me from drilling holes in my boat which I hate to do. Cant wait to get out this weekend and try out the units!Last edited by Cassbass on December 17th, 2012, 10:08 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Cassbass,Its karma. I just completed my structure scan install tonight and networked my HDS units.. Fish taping the front to console was easy. Going from the rear to the console was a pain in the arse but eased with 4 cold ones and a few choice words. I sure can appreciate your pics. What size is the coiled tubing at the bow to cover your wires? I need to get that for my wires. Also, where dod you get it. Fly,Thanks man, and it sure was a lot of work, and a there were a few cuss words dropped along the way too…also about 5 trips to Lowes…lol. You can get the tubing at any automotive store like Autozone, Pepboys, etc. I want to say mine was the 1/2 inch, but I could have used the next bigger size, had to stuff them in pretty tight.

Oh, and if youll notice that the screws on the skimmer transducer are offset a little…that was the result of too many cold ones on day 2 towards the end of the project…. Oh, well, she works…well, in my garage anyway.

Im amazed at the sharpness with structure scan. Hummibirds SI imaging is very good but IMHO SS is at another level in detail. Not sure if the overall features are better but Im more then satisfied coming from a great experience with Humminbirds. Also, LSS1 is more then enough to satisfy my expectations. Being tech savy thats saying something. Kind a neat to know that if I want to add dedicated screen for lets say SI All I need is the head unit. With built in ethernet networking its plug and play to gain access to transducers, N2k accessories like waypoint sharing, digital engine data etc.. Also, at the bow my HDS7 can access SS transducer images. Although, not a convenient as TM mounted transducer still kinda neat. Now Lowrance step up with better customer support to match what Humminbird is known for and Ill be happy Lowrance convert.

Cassbass,Here are a couple of pics of my first day out with my installed Structure Scan. Bottom pic is a zoom of the first pic. Glad it all worked out. It took 6 beers to get that job done. Four to dull the frustration of the install the other two to celebrate.

Fly,Nice pics! I was able to get mine out today and was amazed, and cant wait to play with it more. Not bashing Humminbird, but to me, they arent even in the same ball park as Lowrance, and Ive had both.Have fun with yours and keep us updated with some cool pics.Cass

Here are some screen shots I took today on the Red River here in Shreveport. I was amazed! Ive seen this many times on my sonar, but it just looks like a big blob or blur.
