I have a 2013 Bass Cat Sabre ftd and it came with hummingbird 728 graphs. Im removing the graphs and installing Lowrance Elite 7 HDIs. I know now that the graphs shut off with the accessory switch. Can I still use the accessory switch when I change out my graphs?? I like that feature to be able to cut power off and would like to keep it. Please help.
Sure you can. If youre removing the 728s just use the same 12 volt power that they were hooked to. In other words, use the positive and negative wires they used to power your Elite 7s.
^ apdriver is right, just hook your new unit to the same power source the old was hooked to..On my 2004 Sabre, there were 2 sets of wires tied together (2 neg and 2 pos) DO NOT SEPARATE them if yours are the same… one of those sets is tied to the other to supply power to your console courtesy light… Its a junction so to speak… So keep them all tied together.I did a write up (Elite 5) and its posted here: http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/263 … eps-Pics-a13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
The only thing I will add is that if you go to the larger graphs such as the 8,9, or 10s is that you are better off wiring direct to the battery with a dedicated wire.
