During the 1st day of the 2010 Invitational sometime during a run my motor became stuck in “Forward. I made it through the day by having to start my motor in gear(i know not good). Having a early start time for the second day I feared the worst about getting it fixed. Having my boat docked at henderson for the night i drove from my house in Salem at 3:30 am so i could try to catch the guys at the Bass Cat Trailer so they could maybe check it out. Me being a 18 year old boat owner at the time had no idea how to fix it and thought it was better to let the proffesionals handle it. After about an hour of troubleshooting and taking apart my gear shifter and everything we could think of and knowing the parts trailer did not have any throttle cables for a 1994 Pantera II (The Bleeding Pickle), someone says guys the boat has a Hot Foot. Talk about a blonde moment. Im not even sure anyone was blonde. but needless to say the source of all my problems then was a tiny brass clip that allows the Gear shifter to change gears. In a rush the guys must not have lined up the teeth in the Gear Shifter because to go from forward to neutral I must go all the way past the lock in spot for neutral to ” find Neutral” as i call it. Sometimes being locked in neutral the boat will jump into gear. So i was wondering if this is something that is easy to fix or should i have it done by Bass Cat because i know the grinding of the gears that happens is not good. Also i would like to thank all the hard work that Bass Cat gave me in my time of need and all the hard work they do for others. Thank You Bass Cat

Man thats simple! Since we assume they popped the control box, they either have the shifting cable tensioner in the wrong hole. Old boxes were different than the newer ones on location and assembly. Or the actual barrel in the retaining hole is adjusted wrong and must be moved down the threads on the jacket. They also could have the retainer totally out of the position hole, though usually they slip eventually if that a the case.
