I fish with a lot of different people in the Yuma Pro Am club I run as well as some of the other local club circuits I fish. One thing I have noticed is that a lot of people want to use the passenger windshield as a grab handle when they stand up. I finally just took it off to tried and encourage people to use the handle on the console instead. No luck. Now they reach across and grab the drivers console windshield when they stand up. I have to snug up the screws after almost every trip when I have an older guest in my boat, and every other trip with younger guests. Makes me want to put lettering across the inside of the windshield that says, “This is not a handle moron!” I dont think it would work. I do tell almost everybody that I would appreciate if they didnt use my windshield as a handle, but they still do it. Some use their fingertips after I say something like lifting themselves up with three fingers puts any less stress on it then just grabbing it. One of the ideas I have played with is putting a brush guard style grab rail all around and above the windshield and bolting it through into the console. Was thinking to use some stainless tube, and just have the local dune buggy shop bend it to shape.
