I am showing a little slop (very minor) between the Transom and my Detwiller jack plate. I understand this is routine maint. could you tell me the recommended torque?Or should I just turn them until I turn purple?
Purple is good, though they should not be very loose and you might slip them out some and resilicone the plate to the transom. We suspect a seal could be an issue down the road if not now.
There really is not a number on the torque, though we have stated 85-90 in the past. Good and snug is the answer, though not over snug. It tends to put undue stress on the nuts and threads.
