I have searched and read every post on the board about how to adjust the jack plate. Most said the front and back plate had to be at least equal or the back one was lower than the front. The picture below shows mine with the back one being about 1 1/2 inches higher than the front one. The picture was taken from the left side of the motor. I havent a clue if that is even close as I just purchased the boat a week ago. It is a 2006 Puma with a 275 Verado on it. I understand that the window is about 3/4 of an inch. Can someone give me a good starting point? Thanks in advance for the help. John

I cant make a recommendation but someone that might is going to want to know what prop you are running. Makes big difference on how high the motor needs to be.

We think your plate is close to right height. The other thing on a 275 is Premium fuel in 91 to 93 octane is required or you only have about 245 hp. 87 or 89 will run, just not as well.

I appreciate the feedback. Did not realize the difference 2 octane would make. Will treat her to the good stuff from now on.I have a Tempest 27 pitchNever thought I would say this but “I dont miss my Ranger at all since I aquired my Puma” No comparison in layout, construction and conviences.This board and the FAQ section is amazing with the information that is shared between owners.Proud to be a new member of the cat famitlyJohn
