I should have taken more time going over the Live well set when I picked up my boat. I have a Pump IN button, Pump Out button, Recirculate and aerate buttons. The aerate fills the livewell. Is there a seperate pump for the Pump IN? Do you run both to fill up your well quicker? I had a problem this week and Im not sure what happened. We had one in the well and I had the recirc running on auto. The water was high 50s. For the life of me I cant remember if we were running the aerate on the timer, but at the end of the day our fish was belly up. She wasnt stomach or tongue hooked either. I also have 2 flush mount Oxygenators. I dont think the fish was sick, so I am puzzled. Even if we did not run fresh water in, the oxygenators and recirc should have kept the fish in good condition. The week before we have 5 in the well all day and they were fine at weigh in. Also, can someone tell me how the flush valves work? How do I flush out the spray bars? Someone told me to make the holes bigger in the spray bar (3/8 in) to get a better recirc. Any comments? Thanks MikeMike Caponigro Cary, IL 2010 Jaguar/ Merc 250 Pro XS http://www.xtremek9.com
pump in and aerate are two seperate pumps making it quicker to fill if used at the same timethe spray bars and everything else with the livewell are more than sufficient. oxygenators are not required. you didnt happen to use a livewell additive with the use of your oxygenators? i understand that there are some livewell additives and oxygenators will kill your fish.to clean out your spray bars, fill your livewell, put recirculation in manual, open the red PVC valves located in the bilge. this will flush the spray bars into the bilge area.
This will get you started. http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/2134DONT make the holes larger than they are. The holes are a part of the aeration process, which evacuate ammonia by aerating the water on top with recirculation. Those large holes on other boats give you flow, though they flowing ammonia back into those wells and the active oxygen subsides. We cant say why Nellie went upside down, as we were not there. Though we do know it is a proven system and you can follow the directions for use and it will get you through it. BCB
Thanks guys. I have to assume the fish had an “issue” and its not the live well system. A question on the spray bar flushing. I filled the wells and hit the recirc button and opened the flush valve on one side….nothing happened. Am I doing something wrong? Lastly, is there a manual for the panel? I cant seem to find one in my manual bag.MikeLast edited by fat basser on May 18th, 2010, 11:32 am, edited 2 times in total.Mike Caponigro Cary, IL 2010 Jaguar/ Merc 250 Pro XS http://www.xtremek9.com
Go to clothing and parts page on home page. When you click on that link there is a place that has the A-ten dash and what works and there uses.pant 2Bob
There is no manual for the panel, there really is nothing to work on or set. The only breaker is in the rear on the main line from the battery. The valve should allow water to flow through if the livewells have water in them and the valve is turned in line with the elbow and not cross ways. There are two (2) flush valves to remove trash on those holes in the injection system. We have played intensely with the holes in the spray bars, they are maxxed out with the pumps we are using now for flow and injection pressure to remove ammonia. The functions are:Aeration or Recirculation:OnOne minute of aeration every three minutesOne minute of aeration every five minutes. Bilge: Auto on with or without Master PowerManual on with MasterNavigation lights are controlled at both helm and bowHorn functions the HornFuel switches only the gauge from right to left, which is Left for Main and Right for Kicker tanks (2 x 10 = 20 gallons)Accessory should activate your Hand Rail lightsThe small round A-Ten Touch pad has:Pump In Pump OutFish button for Livewell Lights or black lights.Security for Alarm system
Ok Thanks…Regarding the flush out…just want to make sure i have this right: 1) Fill live wells 2) Recirc ON 3) Open valves Is this correct?MikeMike Caponigro Cary, IL 2010 Jaguar/ Merc 250 Pro XS http://www.xtremek9.com
There should be two flush valves, and one is recirc, the other is aeration. BCB
