Happy New Year BCB, I was wondering if their were any plans of Revising (improving) the Build a Boat chart? It should be possible to have it more interactive, being able to change the outboard, model, and show it on the trailer so trailer colors can be modified, if this could be accomplished It would be nice to be able to change to colors of the dashes since its a extra charge yet quite popular. I also notice certain Vinyl colors are not on the chart, Twilight (light blue grey perfec for Remington steel) and Fire red ( the match to Coral)…Also, Im going to be coloring a Jaguar, as BCB may know Im quite the color freak, with the Jaguar having a totally different color layout and cap insert, how do I modify colors and layouts? Just asking because my Customer Pat Upthagrove is coming down to drive/check out the Jaguar at the Plant. Thanks as always for answering my Goofy questions. BrannonYour Signature …
And I thought I would be the first post in 2010!!!! you beat me by a little over an hour!!!! anyways, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!! Im on my way to work!!!!! Pete
We dont have any initial plans to alter the existing color pallet as the majority of boats fit within the guidelines. There was thought to altering the console colors as that has been added, though we dont think that is a present option. BCB
Ok BCB, if needed could I get a generic sheet of a side shot of a Jaguar so I can color it like a automotive Pre-production sketch? Guessing on $60,000 boats is not my cup of tea. I figured with the huge advancements of computers and their programs a Color chart upgrade with a True showing of colors like Remington steel and all of the unique BCB colors that look nothing like what the computer shows? Not B-tchin, just mentioning. BrannonYour Signature …
I agree. I am interested in a Longhorn theme boat and would love to be able to see some better computer graphics etc. By the way, I am sure there has been a Longhorns themed BCB at some point. Any pics?
Steve is the Longhorns Orange or Gold? Shoot Im probably way off ??? If you guys go to rangerboats.com, click a Fisherman or Z boat, then click the custom color chart, theirs is EASILY the most useful and Accurate in my opinion, malibuboats.com is also nice. Legends is Horrible, you might as well just guess. I feel that with the prices of these boats as a whole, that the companies could make these charts real world, similar to how the automotive companies make the vehicles and colors look totally real, very important when a guy picks out his dream boat, not sure how many times folks have ordered, payed then upon delivery say, “thats not the colors I picked”…..Some colors just show up totally wrong, granted thats what us dealers are for, but seeing a chip vs. the on boat applications its really different. I agree that Ranger probably does have the best color selector on their website. The colors seem to be accurate and they also show the trailer. I believe that the software that the Ranger color selector uses is the reason that the colors are more accurate (Adobe Shockwave for the Ranger site vs. Adobe Flash for BCB). Most of the Flash based color selectors I have used are not very accurate, however, the BCB build a boat section is better than most. With the color charts on some sites you might as well close your eyes and use your imagination. Like Brannon said, it would be nice if BCB would redesign there build a boat section to provide more interactivity and a more accurate representation of colors.
Maybe BassCat will consider these constructive comments. Theirs is good but it could be better. Charcoal looks more like Malibu Silver and Remington steel is anybodys guess. Hopefully, this will be taken under consideration.
Part of it may be that BC is trying to be user friendly to the dial up users as well. Maybe have a program that differentiates between dial up and broadband.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
