I would like to know how many people out there really like the looks of the the Jaguar Console ? I personaly think it ruins the looks of a really nice rig !
Im glad my Cougar doesnt have that sea shell look. I just dont like it. Maybe a new windshield could kind of hide the shell look.
I love my Jag console. It is functional and fits the boat perfectly. My wife would prefer I had another console on the passenger side, but my 00 single console Jag is one awesome tournament fishing machine. I love it.
I have to honestly say that I really like the console. Is it different…YES. Is it functional…Absolutely. When you are in the seat, every gauge is viewable. I also like the clam shell look….but thats just my opinion. MikeMike Caponigro Cary, IL 2010 Jaguar/ Merc 250 Pro XS http://www.xtremek9.com
I am okay with the New Jaguar console. Once you see it in person, it does help when you see the depth perception. The console is very functional and well laid out. The “shell” look is aerodynamic. It definitely would not stop me or be a determining factor from owning one….”IF” I were in the market for one.Jmtfrisco, Texas
What most people do not understand on the console and windscreen, till they actually use it, is the massive console that is in place or previous windscreen views. We were going to try and convert it on other models for use as it has so many features, though it looks like you mounted a Volkswagen Beetle on deck of a boat it is so HUGE! The console is large and you look over the wheel at gauges and LCR. Thus the windscreen is just the right size to see over or around it. The normal windscreens we have used for years would be sticking well up into the view on this boat. Also the console covers the should area on most men or medium to large sizes. Thus the windscreen is smaller and while be totally different in concept, works fairly well for the mission. It could have been larger, though the face design would have been blocky and less flowing. Everyone who sits behind it has a totally different understanding of the console. Some still have comment about the face, though understand why once they sit behind it. BCB
I applaud Rick and the design team for having the guts to do something “different” here. I see it as form and function coming together in a radical new look. I remember, long ago, thinking that thumb bars on reels, and the double thumb bar on Shimano Castaics was the dumbest thing Ive ever seen. They are industry standards now. I like the look, and even more so, the function. Mike Whitten/Germantown, TN
Just seen one for the first time at the PAA at Conroe and I dont like the console much. I think if they nixed the mirrors and made it a better fit to the bottom half it would be fine. good concept but one of the tings I thought was what about all the road grime dust ect that gets caught between the top and bottom by way of the gaping holes behind the mirrors? It is a big boat !!! The Saber sitting next to it looked like it could have been used for a life boat for it. LOL I fish out of a classic and got it for a few reasons 1 is my garage size, 2 is I fish allot of timber and a 19 footer gets around in it better. If I had only waited a year I can assure you I would have gotten a P-2 for the deck layout. What I would like to see is a revamp of the P-4. Build a P-4 FTD with the storage and cooler under the seat also. and of course up grade her to a 225. not in the market for a new Bass Cat yet but Im sure I would be if they did that to the P-4 along with a bunch of others. Got long winded with this but just my 2 cents
From what I can tell is that most folks love the layout of the new console from the drivers perspective….its the appearance when looking at the console from the bow of the boat that most folks tend not to like (the whole sea shell design). As always BCB designs their consoles and windscreens to be used as their intended purpose, to block the elements. I love the regular consoles that are on the rest of the BCB lineup, though they would look small on the Jag. I think the functionality is there on the Jags console from the drivers view, just a little too much styling on the front of the console. Still its one fine boat.
I have got to tell ya. The first time I saw one it reminded me of the old Cadilac rear end with the fins. Im sure it is super functional, but a little to old fashion looking for my taste. I prefer the smooth look myself. Like they said when it came out, Its not for everybody. BCB RULES!!
