After fishing a stumpy lake it seems every time you slide off a stump the rear of the boat will fall back down in the water a few inches catching the livewell intake and tearing it up. I have had this happen on my “R” boat several times and my resto this past weekend. Seems if you could recess this back intake into the hull so when you come off of the stump it doesnt knock off or beat up the intake cover. Maybe BCB already does this, but I think it could save a bunch of headaches down the road. Anyone else experience this?Your Signature …

You may just be unlucky or your setups are different than mine….I fish some of the stumpiest water around and have never broken any intakes for livewells or drains. I have taken few a external transducers off and now mount my temp gauge under the jackplate…..learned real quick to go with the thru hull ducers. With my luck I will tear one off Thursday in my evening tournament just because it was brought up….Thanks….LOLElwoodElwood…..Bass Cat Proud

Yeah, my aerator intake cover has been gone. Toledo Bend stumps are gonna take anything they can off a boat. With my luck, Id catch a limb or something in the recess and wouldnt be able to get loose. Ive never banged up an intake.

I bumped my plastic intake screen off several years ago on Lake Fork, re-attached a new screen with enough silicone to do several boats.That suckah aint never comong off now!

I think Elwood is right that you seem to be a bit unlucky. I have fished both Toledo Bend and Rayburn and have only lost 1 strainer in the last 15 years, and I am fishing shallow and always on a stump it seems.
