Just finished flush mounting a HDS 8

Took the 8 off the bow and mounted it in the dash tonight (09 Cougar FTD). Tried the spacer and could not get it cut to suit. I ended up just cutting out the template where it looked the best and notched the glass on the tree so the bottom left corner would fit flush. From the bottom you could see part of the notch so I put some putty with glitter in the hole and am going to color it to match tomorrow with a blue sharpie. Looks good to me is dead flush. The pic makes it look too high but only a very small portion (less than 1/4 inch) of the top right hand corner sticks up above the dash. Also had to notch to bottom left corner of the cover for it to fit. Got my confidence and ideas by searching here to see what you guys had done in the past.
