on my 2014 puma ftd. My 3 blade 26 Fury runs great (77 with 2 people) but holeshot suffers with poles/partner/gas and warm weather. I ran the 26 fury last wed/thur, then ran the 26 Fury 4 fri/sat. Lost a mph or 2(74mph) with the 4 and holeshot was no different than the regular fury. I was expecting a noticeable difference. Im currently at 3 1/4 below pad should I go up or down for better holeshot? Ideas?

All PVS holes open? For better Hole shot, may have tried a 25 pitch. Not familiar with the new 4 Fury.

What were your RPMs at WOT? Same as the 3 Fury?

Im not sure about the 4 Fury, but as you know the 3 Fury likes to run deep. Most 4 bladed Props like to run a bit more shallow. My Trophy does on my Sabre.

Ivan @ BCB advised me to raise mine about 1/2 inch. I sent him a photo of jack plate settings. I additionally went to a 25P Fury4 from the 26p Fury 3. Hole shot is super on my 15 Cougar FTD with twin Talons. and full load. Lost about 2 mph.

bamacat what kinda speed u getting out of the 25 fury 4 blade ?

New Kent Cougar wrote:Rpms right at the same about 5880.I believe your best bet is to drop down to a 25p if your goal is to better your hole shot. You can definitely try raising the engine. 1/4 inch at a time.

I am running a 26 Fury 3 blade no plugs on a 2017 Puma FTD. No problem with holeshot. If you have a hydraulic run the plate up to about 5 on your gauge at a stand still, when you shoot the coals to the motor hold the blinker down until the boat breaks over on plane. Then adjust to you typical running hight and trim the engine for speed. I battled that for a while until a buddy showed me that. He said “thats why the plate goes up and down, so you can use it” I run a SeaStar (Detwiller). I hope this helps.
