Was fishing on Toledo Bend this weekend for the LA Best six and was fishing by the road in Lanan Bay. The Bass Cat support van drove by and laid on the horn and waved. Dont know who it was but it was cool for them to recognize a 2004 Sabre and give a shout out. Thank you and I love being part of the family.I did see Ike in Toledo town but he had a crowd around him so I did not add to it. I just fished for the last three days and my azz is kicked….could not imagine how tired he was. Walked around his boat though….impressive to say the least and damn nice Tundra also. Not sure who is driving the carbon wrapped Eyra but I saw them on the red river during a club tournament….very nice rig also..Elwood…..Bass Cat Proud

John Crews is running an Eyra but not sure if he fished the Open on the river last weekend. I checked his out a little bit while waiting on Brandon Palaniuk to get a weigh bag. We will let Paul and Linda know you noticed them. BCB
I was fishing Friday and broke the throttle cable from my hot foot to my Merc. Paul came over and we talked for about 30 minutes. He tried to help, but said they had no cables on his trailer. BUT, if he had one, I have no doubt he would have given it to me. Nice guy and I really enjoyed our visit. I did luck up and Carlton Marine in Hemphill fixed my cable that evening for me so I was good to go for our tx on the weekend.
Elwood, did you do any good in Lanana? I live off Hwy 1215 by the first bridge you cross. Lanana has some good fish in it but they dont seem to be fish you can depend on very well. Something weird about them.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
Did well on Friday pre-fishing and caught enough fish to give us confidence to fish there during the tournament. Sat was great…had five OK keepers in the boat by 7:30 and then went after bigger fish. Ended up with 6 fish over three and up to 5.76lbs. Sun they shut off…had three keepers….3 years ago I had big bass that was 9.54 lbs out of that area so it can be good to you….but like you said…you better have a back up hole…..ha haElwood…..Bass Cat Proud
Thats pretty darned good. I just dont understand the area. The fish dont leave. I have caught fish but go back and cant get bit. Years ago when BASS had the final 2 days on a marked 6 hole course, they used Lanana for the 6 hole course. I was impressed with how well they did, especially considering that the lake came up about 3 feet overnight. No kidding! They almost cancelled it but Jay Yelas, Larry Nixon and others said that they are pros and they would catch fish. That was the year that David Wharton won.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
