Was just wondering……. Hmmmmmm………..There were some on this board that applauded the last president for sending our boys into a foreign land with no promise of returning home. A helluva lot havent and want. In doing so, that President spent Billions of dollars resulting in the largest deficit ever. Again, the same some said nothing about the spending. Now they chastise this president whom wants to spend Billions to save lives and is expected to decrease the deficit over time. I guess Im not understanding your Christian thoughts? Youre for spending to kill but not for spending to save lives. 43000 lives are lost every year because there are those who cannot afford to receive proper health care. There are also those who have existing health problems that cant even buy health care insurance. What about them? Most who are bitching are fortunate enough to have or can afford health care.I dont get it!!!!!!GlynnLast edited by NELACAT on March 25th, 2010, 6:25 pm, edited 1 time in total.
This president is still sending troops and not bringing any home because when he talked out of the side of his mouth and made campaign promises when he wasnt privy to national security issues it was an empty promise. Lets see if you have private sector HEALTH INSURANCE in 4 years when this kicks in. It will be worse than now. To get the health care you WANT you will have to pay for it. To get the health care you NEED will be paid by someone else.
Been so long sense I have even had any. Not sure what it would feel like. For the ones out there that have a job and some type of insurance. Feel lucky my friends, a lot of us out here have nothing !!
Ive worked at the same place for over 30 years and expect to retire from there. However, I can still see myself needing this if things were a little different. Either an accident or illness. It could happen to any of us. The real shame is this could have been a great thing if only both parties had worked together. Each time there has been expansion of health care, only 1 party seems to care about Joe Blow.
i want a new boat..which one of you guys are gonna buy me one?? Do you really think its the federal govts responsibility to provide healthcare for every single united states citizen…its been proven the more you GIVE away the less people are motivated..anyways…this issue has both sides and i could go on and on..but my one point i must make is i want less government involvement into my life!! This healthcare is just the tip of the iceberg, just wait..more is coming our way..I still dont see how you can GIVE healthcare to 300 plus million americans and it not cost Joe the Plumber one red cent! OH and yes this president has spent 2 trillion dollars in his first year alone.
This is a 50/50 situation. Health care is an issue and we all know that. And we also have a good amount of Mexican, Japanese, Canadian, Australian and other readers of this forum. So one must be aware more countries are represented here. We try to defer on the political statements on the board, though we may make a post as such, we really have tried to be non political. There is much to this, health care, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Stimulus packages, Cap & Trade, Gun Control, Water Access Rights and much, much more. We had just discussed here whether or not to share our joint view internally. Though we have been hesitant to open that can or opinion. Then we find this post after licking one earlier today. In 1763 Taxation began upon the Colonies and led to the Boston Tea Party, eventually the uprising and Revolution which created our America. Now we find ourselves in a similar conundrum from internal developments. In 1776 we revolted and officially filed for Independence. Through the Emancipation Proclamation, Articles of the Constitution, the Constitution and Etc..American is what America becomes. We must act to have a referendum to overturn any legislation, and only then are our true wishes represented. Can we so act and can any movement gain the power over our country that we may have lost. To have such a referendum is unlikely, not undo-able though difficult to organize and execute such an activity. Or is this the country, America, we have now and are those views of majority so represented in the actions of Congress and Presidential office. Soon we shall know what our America has become. People have now seen both parties movements and now have fully become aware of the actions of each toward governing our society. President Bush came in from Clinton with a .com financial meltdown climaxing in the spring of 2000. President Obama came in with the present financial meltdown climaxing in the fall and March of 2009. We never really found bottom after 2000 as 911, Katrina, Rita, Ike, Oil prices, Housing Crisis, Sally Mae, Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, AIG, Lehman and more took hold. Then we had GM, Chrysler and more shock waves! We have not forgotten 911, though many voting age teens, some soldiers, were but 9 years old then. Afghanistan was for a cause and was just. We forget that this was the second foreign attempt in our country and had we taken a former opportunity to squelch a threat under a former President we may not have faced 911 as we know it. Had the order to extricate the threat been given. In the next election we will learn what America we have now. Will it be an America of uprising, one of values of past, a turn to a broader melting pot than we have previously accepted. Or will we see a totally different America? One where the mixed race and ethnic culture, of the populated cities in our country, dictate the much larger and less populated views of the geographic land mass, controlled by the minority of votes, as expressed in the last election. This is but a threshold and we are anxious to see what the falls of 2010 and 2012 bring. Which America are we?Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on March 22nd, 2010, 8:59 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Well put BCB. Guess we will have to wait and see!
Which America are we? The broke and quickly becoming the not so “free” as in freedom. The Majority american public is not upset that a health care package is being pushed forward they are concerned over the benchmarks, earmarks, pig fat or whatever else one calls it that has been lumped into this deal, there is billions of dollars in this bill that have absolutley nothing , zero, nada to do with health care. Next is the cost, who is paying for it? WE ARE! You, me, every small business owner, corparation , self employed person in the US. To belive for one second we can spend this kind of money with out raising taxes to increase the cost required to do all the things necessary that is required in this bill is ridiculous. Anyways I could go on and on about this one though it would require pushing one sides views against another and that only leads to a political argument which nobody ever wins or will understand. Though to your original question…Christian thoughts?? How about some dam idiots that flew some planes into our country and killed over 3000 americans…you can bet your rear behind that I am willing, able, and will fully support ANY Commander In Chief (dem or rep) that has to make that choice and send our troops into harms way, regardless of cost, we will defend and protect our freedoms our land and our country against any enemy foreign or domestic. Lets not ever forget that day in our history. I look at it as we didnt spend billions of dollars to kill. we spent billions of dollars so we will have the rights, the freedoms and democracy of a free nation that allow us to sit at a computer and chat about what is wrong or right with the country.
Freedom isnt free. It never has been and never will be. The freedom to be “Christian”, or anything else, usually comes at especially high costs. I personally feel my freedoms, as of late, are being compromised. As for my level of Christianity…..well, thats between me and the Lord. Heaven forbid we have someone on this forum with different religious beliefs…..Thank goodness theres no tournament to settle this one!
Obamas healthcare reform was never about healthcare. Anyone who doesnt recognize that is pretty much beyond hope.
