Topic: Kill Switch ?

Here we go again with another ? Was out tonight and jumped up with my life jacket on excited to fish and had teh kill switch attached to the jacket and popped it off. Sad thing is couldnt get it back on. My buddy in his panic tried and broke the yoke on the switch. Panic set in then big time but the motor fired up and we were off . How in the heck do you get the thing back on and second with that thing off i wouldnt think the motor would start. Lastly do i need to order another from Bass Cat. My experience with kill switches is the ignition pulls out a bit and you slide it under. My ignition doesnt budge. Need Help Again.

I dont own a BassCat yet but I plan on ordering one soon. That said, the kill switch on my current boat does not pull out but it does push in. I have to push in on the middle of the ignition switch and then slide the kill switch on top. At times, I have seen the button stick inside the ignition switch which allows me to start the boat without the kill switch on. Your switch is probably different but I thought I would mention this just in case.

It sounds like you have an Evinrude and that switch is able to function on or off. They (BCB Parts) do not stock extras as that is an engine accessory. Most any BRP dealer should be able to hook you up! BCB Admin

That KS takes some getting use to. On my 06 Puma, the void in the insert goes toward the ignition and depresses the ring around the keyhole. This is backward from what seems logical to me as I was accustomed to my previous boat that worked the opposite. Another thing I have learned is that the tether will occasionally wrap around my throttle cable on the floor during towing. Theres enough stretch in the tether that you can hook up to your PFD and never know it happened. Ive learned to check since the KS could fail to work correctly if the tether is wrapped around that cable.
