kinda flakey

could i go over whats already there with a coat of flake then a coat of clear? Or would i have to sand down to the original flake?

Since that boat has a bench seat, try the area behind the seat and see how it turns out! If it doesnt work right, it will be in an area you can cover up! Have you tried wet sanding to see if the shine and color comes back?Last edited by scubaman154 on February 24th, 2013, 2:20 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I have, and it does come back, but I was wanting to add a little more flake to the whole boat.

BEEN THERE / DONE THAT —- Its alot of work , but it can be done . — You can just 80 grit the surface to rough it up , and wipe it down with acetone before you shoot it . —- However , if youre not experienced with fiberglass , and / or metal flake repair , it would be advisable to let someone do it that is . — When done right , it can look almost as good as new . — Hoss
