How is the bass fishing on Lake Norfork in late October or early November? Is there typically a shallow bite at that time of year?

Sometimes there is a shallow bite but the best bang for the buck is football jig fished from 20-35 foot off of points, channel swings and drains on flats. That time of the year you can get into some good deep smallmouth action!!! However, that time of the year can be difficult too!! The high water may have them doing different things this year!!

We usually catch alot of bass shallow on tube and spinnerbaits that time of year. It is all going to depend on water temp. Bullshoals is running about 5 to 7 degrees cooler as of right now. There are alot of shad in the back of the creeks on Bullshoals. They have not moved shallow as of right now on Norfork. Two months can make a big difference though by then, they should have it at about normal level by then the way they are pulling water out now about 6 inches a day.

It is normally good in November! Though the higher water will change it and the cooler summer also. We all like Norfork and Bull Shoals from mid November through March or mid April.

Thanks . . . Ill plan the trip to coincide with the full moon in November. Where would you recommend that I stay, on the water, for 3-4 days of serious fishing, and maybe a visit to the BCB plant?
