I just bought a Humminbird 597 and am looking to purchase a map card. Which is better lakemaster or Navionics? I am looking to learn a little more about off shore fishing and think this will be a big help. I fish mostly in Alabama and it is all freshwater. Thanks.

If lake master is available for the lake you are going to fish then get a lakemaster. In my opinion it is a no brainer.

Getting ready to order then looked at the lakes. They dont have the Ross Barnett so I ordered the Navionics.

I have both. I prefer the Lakemaster, only if it is HD for that lake.
