Yes they will! Though we dont see a huge bonus in that, and some plumbers grease in the action will slow or stop your leakage which a the benefit. BCB

I have a 06 puma And was woundering if the 08 compartment latches that lock the handle down will replace the old style? Thanks

You will have to measure cam clearance and use the proper cams, then redrill new holes for either latch. Perko are more price feasible than Southco on older rigs, though Southcos are much nicer.

I will keep you updated Alan my D handles are also falling apart. I think I will go with the southco sense both seem to have the same amount of work.

I put the Southco latches on my 01 P3, but I do like the idea of the new style latches not transmitting the heat into the livewells.

Get a bigger co-angler. He can shade the live well latches. If he is not big enough, find one that uses 30 rods and have him lay some of em over the latches. Where theres a will, theres a way. 2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

Fishing in Michigan Im not as much worried about the heat as one in Texas might be but more so that I like the operation of them better than the old style. If Im going to have the latches off anyways it would be very easy to make the switch. Ill look into the southco thanks for the info guys.

For the record, I changed all 10 out in an hour or so, with the most difficult part getting a couple of the siliconed-in locking rings removed to get the old ones out. New ones use a pair of stainless screws.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

For mine I had to get longer (by about 1/4″) screws than provided because of the thicker lids on the earlier models. They were still using glassed in wood on the hatch covers on our models before going to aluminum. I do not know about the Marine town latches as they came out with them afterwords.

I did forget one problem. Ice chest latch. the cam lock arm was too long. Took a couple of trips to my bench grinder followed up by final cleanup with my handy dremel. Had to take about 1/2″ off the end so that it would not contact the side of the ice chest. I can also attest to their watertightness. So far not one drop has gotten past them. Heavy rain that kept bilge pump running at 100% duty cycle for 30 minutes or so, nor flooding with a water hose while washing.Last edited by oldtimer57 on March 16th, 2017, 4:15 pm, edited 1 time in total.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

Well if a little tweaking of the latches is all I run into Ill be happy haha. Ordered carpet today hoping I got enough but forgot to get rivets for latches so Ill be placling another order here again soon.

No rivets for latches. They mount with two screws each, included with the latch.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
