The latest product we are introducing is a new products line of BCB Rods. There are eleven different models available at this time. Not every aspect is going to be available, and mid flex and above are all we are going to handle.
These are all numbered with individual serial numbers. They are BCB labeled and Fuji components. The guides are Fuji Alconite Concept, and the open handle is Fuji blank through with Grade 1 Portuguese Cork, 55,000,000 modulus back bone stiffner with a 33,000,000 (million) modulus tip structure. The blanks have been made to BCB specs’ with mandrels. These are not shelf blanks, they are custom mandrels and winding.
We have enjoyed a fantastic affiliation with many rod companies in the fishing industry. They make some good stuff, though back about a year ago we saw a change in the marketing of rods, Chinese production and more. We continue to have the utmost respect for Falcon, American Rodsmith, Castaway, Powell and others. Though as we saw the changes in marketing, production and more. We decided that improvements could be made and a USA product could continue to be available. So we moved forward!
And here is an image of our first production rods.

Pricing is compatable with most mid level rods, and these are high quality sticks. No doubt, just as with our boats, we will continue to tweak these as we move ahead. These are Tournament Grade Rods.
There are a few of the original prototypes out which have been in testing for several months. A few limited individuals have received one recently after we finished our work with those prototypes.
Sorry Deke, we did not build a rod like you desire, because there are few who know they need it, so it is a limited production item. We know exactly what you need, and you are right in it’s use. We will get you that Am. Rdsmth. number soon.
Here is a link to the main page for the rods. We are working on better images.
Thanks,
BCB
Sounds great! Are these the same kind that I got with my promo goodies this year, or is their something different with this new lineup?
This is a new line, built to BCB specs. With upgraded materials. D.
These are a step up from the promo rods…

Aw shucks! I’ll definitely appreciate the AR rod though and the help you’ve been in finding it.

BCB:
I would think that a dedicated smallmouth rod would be in order as well. One that’s fine-tuned to the sensitivity needed for hopping tubes and stuff slowly across gravel and rock-strewn flats.
Anyway, Tony Bean once said that the perfect smallmouth rod was no longer than 6′. Don’t know that I necessarily agree with that but I do seem to prefer shorter spinning rods for this.
Daiwa USED to make such a rod even designed by Tony Bean, the original PowerMesh TD601-2RSC, that many consider to be the pinnacle of smallmouth rods ever made. I gave $80 or so for one at Wal-Mart well over 20 years ago and recently sold it on ebay for $175 even stating that the cork foregrip had been damaged and reglued and showing it in the pictures.
Maybe it’s a little too niche and light for your target rod customer but there’d definitely be a market in the smallmouth states for such a rod.
Just a thought…

Great looking rods. I am curious as to the warranty.
We will get a Warranty printed out on them soon. Though we wanted to go ahead and launch them here.

That is some nice looking rods and I’m sure if BCB is putting thier name on them then they must be of high quality. I will definately look into these.

Just as soon as I can get moved and settled I will be updating a few of mine also.
Thanks
American Rodsmiths will have a foam type handle soon in a high end rod. Keep checking http://www.americanrodsmiths.com for details and availability.
BCB – Are these rods similar in action and level to the silver series or Low Riders ???
I will start by saying that I have one of the 7′ Heavy action rod and it is an awesome rod and ya’ll are going to LOVE these things. I am really impressed by the action and weight of the rod.
I mainly have Cara’s and I would classify this rod as a CC-6-17, which is what Falcon calls one of their Lizard draggers. I prefer the CC-7-17 so I will get an XH to replace my draggin’ rods.
Ya’ll need to hop on these they are impressive.

If you’re comparing the to Falcon brand of rods they will be in a grade similar to that between the Cara series and the Expert series. The Falcon Cara uses Fuji Hardloy guides and the Falcon Experts use Fuji Alconite guides. BCB is using Alconite guides. The blank will be something like that of the Cara. Comparing side by side pricewise, the BCB rod is the better value!
