Need some help. I have a 1994 Eyra-150 Mariner, boat is very clean and in great shape. This past season I have noticed a fluid (?)(seems to be dirty water)dripping from the transom mount at the jack plate bolt area (lower lt side) There was a trickle of fluid on the inside of boat until I tightened the bolt. On the out side (it runs from under jack plate down transom). Even after tightning it still leaves a small (less than the size of credit card) puddle on the floor. (Puddle is dark as oil but is water.) Could this be the transom wood soaking up water and leaking at bolt hole? Thanks, Rick D.

That sounds exactly like what youre describing, and you need a BCB dealer or other qualified tech to check out the transom for intrusion. Been there, and my scenario was about as bad as it gets in that i had water in the transom, and floatation boxes. I hope you caught this early and can dry it out and re-rig and seal and go your merry way. But get someone who knows what theyre doing to check it out. D.

It is probably water as suggested. It is a good idea to reseal transom bolts every ten years or less. A 94 model could be a problem and even with some moisture it may be allright. Though the transom bolts need removal and resealed after the area dries. The transom in an Eyra is not full width and just clips the edge of the side foam chambers so you may not have much moisture in them. The transom may dry out and be fine. There is no way to tell? Not without major efforts. We would remove the bolts and let it dry then reseal starting bottom up.
