leaky brakes

Any new boats having leaking brake problems? I picked up my boat on 10-11-13. My brake actuator was leaking around the boot date code 8-28-13. BassCat sent me a new one and on the first time I pulled boat out of driveway to check them, the boot pulled complete off front off actuator, and dumped the fluid out. I bled out air manually and made sure fluid level was at the peg on the bottom of cap. Am I doing something wrong?????2014 Puma FTD 250 XS

An occasional line gets sheared or a line leaks at fittings. Nothing like this?

Nothing loose, the boot around actutor rod to master cylinder . Pulled Completely off at the larger end of master cylinder.2014 Puma FTD 250 XS

FYI : per the factory that makes the brake actuator , after backing your boat in place you should always block your wheels & pull forward to release your brakes. Or rust can build up on push rod & cause leaky seals.2014 Puma FTD 250 XS

If you are saying the boot around the push rod came off and it had fluid in it then the master cyl. seals are leaking.There should never be any fluid in the boot. All it does is keep moisture out of the front of the master cyl. If you didnt have to worry about moisture/water then you could take the boot off without hurting anything.Find you a cutaway drawing or parts drawing and you will see what I mean.Johnny

That was a new actuator with a bad seal in it from Factory sent to BassCat,That got shipped to me . I called Brake factory they will send me a new one from CA. Not BassCat fault2014 Puma FTD 250 XS

UFP is a good place. Walking in their shop is very much like going to BCB. The owner will come out to assist anyone if the other guys are too busy.- Chaz
