Sorry in advance for being so long. OK here we go….Fished a 2 day tournament this weekend. Checked my clock on my GPS for the offical time on Saturday morning and its right on. After Saturday we were in 7th place setting only a couple pounds away from 2nd place. Sunday we took off never looked at the GPS time that morning we fished a couple hours before starting to pay attenion to the time of day on the GPS. With a couple hours to go we made a move and started to catch some good fish by now we had enough fish in the live well to maintain 7th maybe even move up a little. With one hour to go my partners wife called him and ask how we did he told her were doing OK we still had about a hour to go. This is when she told us that it was 2:04 and weigh in was at 2:00. This is when we discoverd that we missed weigh in and 6th or 7th place because my GPS automatically changed my clock setting back a hour because it was programed that daylight saving time ended this past weekend Anyway all is good had a great weekend fishing with a good Buddy. Just wanted to tell my sad story.
That stinks!!! I always wear a watch and use a cell phone time. I have buddies who use the GPS time and never had an issue but I bet they wouldve if they wouldve fished yesterday. Sorry to hear that but at least you had a good time! Judd Lasiter
I fished a tournament Sunday on LOZ and my Lowrance LCX-28C showed the correct local time, made it back to check in with 5 to spare. At least my partner had fish.
I had the same problem on Sunday. I told my partner that we had 1.5 Hr left to fish my last spot when he said no we have 30 minutes to get back and thats when I looked at my watch, but when we left at 7 am the GPS was corect.
I ask a couple of friends to check their gps units today and they are also set back a hour?? My wife told me Im getting a watch for Christmas
Guys, noticed the same problem, but what is funny my front gps was an hour off while my main unit on the console was dead on accurate. I am bad about not realizing the actual time on the water so as to make sure my wristwatch is accurate to the tournaments “Official Time” I also have a Timex Ironman watch velcroed to my steering wheel, most will laugh but (Knock-on wood) I have yet to be late. Fished a tourney Saturday and left my last spot with what I thought would be pushing it time wise, trying to get every last second in there and I obviously forgot I was in my new FTD with a 250 Pro-XS, what I thought was a 5 minute boat ride was actually less than 3 minutes, man I love this boat. Last thing on time, My phone obviously was misprogrammed as well, I use my phone as my alarm, went off an hour later than normal Sunday morning and missed church. Bad deal for sure. Will make sure I am ontime thie week though!
Well, at least you werent in 1st place … Or running out of gas on the last restart at Atlanta and falling from 1st to 24th!!!
A lot of devices will be off, since the daylight savings days have changed. Some dont have updates to fix the issue, others do and you have to apply them. You actually need to download some fixes for java on your computers also. Here are a couple of links with some updates. Not sure if the daylight savings time patch is included in the latest version or not, but it is always good to update to the latest version anyway. http://www8.garmin.com/support/blosp.jsp http://www.lowrance.com/Downloads/Updates/default.asp http://www.humminbird.com/normal.asp?ID=855 http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst Or you can just move to AZ where we dont go through the changing of the clock thing. We like it just the way it is all year round. Hope that helps some of yall.Last edited by dweller01 on October 30th, 2007, 2:48 am, edited 3 times in total.Jason Desertdweller.com Get Your Bass in the Boat!
doesnt it make you want to visit Washington, and shove a lucky-13 or Zara spook where the sun dont shine on your local representative/senator? This is killing us with computers right and left as well. Most computer systems, my DVR, GPS device, even my cute Seiko world-time watch all know about the _old_ daylight saving time law, not the new one. I think I am going to go order 4 gross of lucky-13s and head to DC.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
