Lifting Boat off Trailer

Boy, my first thought would be to visit a local boat storage facility and ask about dry storage. They should have the facilities to lift the boat with straps, and store it. You could probably arrange for a month and then take the trailer home and take your time.I dont have a clue how you would get it off the trailer safely without a boat lift. I can think of so many things that could go wrong, all of which would be beyond expensive to repair…On the other hand, with my old astro (which only had two 2x6xsomething bunks, I used a floor jack and a carpet-padded 2×6 to lift one side just off the bunk, then I removed it. I do not know if the BCB bunks are removable (I am talking about both the wood and the bracket underneath – i.e. does the bunk have a bracket that attaches to the bunk and then a bolt that holds it to the upright on the trailer?) Mine did and it was actually not a very hard job to repair the bunks. You could probably cover the boat if you do any wild sort of painting…2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

I have removed a couple of my boats before by tying the transom u-bolts to another vehicle as an anchor, and using old tires and wooden blocks to support the boat as I pulled the trailer out from under it, and winched it back on when done. And I have helped a friend do his with an engine hoist that he rented and tires and blocks to support the boat.
